Laser projectors are all the rage right now. Everyone seems to want one, but not everyone is 100% convinced that parting with the large stacks of cash it takes to acquire one is the right move, at least not right now. To steal a line from prescription drug commercials, how do you know if a laser is right for you? In my opinion, it comes down to how high of a value you place on dependability and peace of mind.
Pro Video Headaches
I had a very interesting experience the other day. I had to make a trip to a job site to help a customer overcome some difficulties commissioning a Grass Valley GV Director. It turned out that most of the troubles were compounded by the end-user not understanding the requirements (and therefore limitations) of Pro Video system design.
and Finding Personnel
It has long been my conviction that none of us at the age of six said, “I want to be an AV Professional when I grow up.” True? How did you come into this industry after all? Most of us came via some side road such as being in a band or being a musician. Others loved to tinker and take things apart and discover how they worked on the inside. Whatever path you took, it was most likely due to the fact that you “accidentally” found the AV industry and fell in love. Chances are that some “old guy” or a mentor took you under their wing and taught you about all of the moving parts of a professional AV system or you taught yourself through trial and error.
